Golden Gate Camp held this year at Menlo College in Atherton, California was a lovely setting and we could not have asked for better weather.

We were thrilled to have Tom Bobadilla our National Referee Administrator once again at Golden Gate Camp. We kicked off Camp Friday evening with a welcome barbeque under the Oak Trees. Following dinner Tom spoke with everyone at the fireside pit and shared what’s new at National. In no time at all Tom had everyone laughing and engaged. Tom also honored and acknowledged several “Passionate Volunteers” in his inspiring way. During a Q & A chat he gathered information from the group to take back to NSTC.
On Saturday Tom instructed a new course National is rolling out “Session for Certified Instructors” to which we received rave reviews from the participants.
THANK YOU to everyone who attended. We hope you had a great experience! It takes very special people like all of you, who care enough to work hard so you can return home with great new skills and techniques to share with the Kids and other volunteers in AYSO.

Camp wrapped up Sunday with lots of volunteers heading home with new certifications in all disciplines; Coach, Management & Referee.

Continuing in Camp tradition the Advanced and Intermediate Coach students put their new skills to work in a long standing “all in fun” rivalry to see which Instructor would carry home the honor of the win. Unfortunately, the trophy met with foul play and was MIA! But that didn’t stifle the rivalry or the smiles when in a surprise upset the Advanced Coach Class won the honor for their lead instructors Jock Hamilton and Jeff McClure.
